In the long term, fund raising will resume for a permanent covered skate facility with music rehearsal rooms, a legal graffiti site, cafe and retail outlet. This will be a centre run by skaters for skaters and not a businessman's commercial venture. In the short term, WORDS AND PICTURES have been asked by Sheffield City Council and elected at a Public Consultation Meeting to set up a steering committee to oversee the development of the Devonshire Green open air site. All our (unpaid and voluntary) efforts are going into supporting, developing and fundraising for this site, and also into developing the Web Site to give a national and international voice to all WAP members.
